According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, this year the monsoon will enter from the eastern part of Nepal before the average date.
The department has issued a special bulletin today and informed that this year’s monsoon system has arrived in Nepal’s Province 1 today. Monsoon is expected to start in other parts of Nepal in a few days. Although the average date of onset of monsoon in Nepal is June 13, the department’s website had earlier mentioned that monsoon usually enters Nepal on June 10.
Monsoon enters from the eastern part of Nepal and gradually moves westwards. The period of four months from June to September is called the monsoon period in the South Asian region. In this regard, the bulletin mentioned that the Meteorological Forecasting Department is continuously monitoring the monsoon system for this year and updating it regularly.
